Let's Re-Imagine School – with The School of Philanthropy!
L'Ecole de la philanthropie

Why Teach philanthropy?

• Philanthropy, broadly understood…

From the Greek, ‘philos’, friend and ‘anthropos’, mankind, philanthropy is everyone's business! We all benefit from the donation of time, energy, skills, and more!

• Philanthropy strengthens our living together!

It contributes to a good school climate and adds integrity to the local social fabric.

• Philanthropy can be learned!

It is a vector for awakening social commitment among young people. It is based on empathy and leads to thoughtful and active citizenship.

“I appreciated this connection between classroom work and the outside world. This experience also gives students a role in society where they are not to simply accept things, to follow others. Ultimately, they are the ones who make the decisions and that puts them in the position of actors.”

Séverine Corbière, teacher at the Armand Carrel school (Paris 19th)

What do we offer?

• A free turnkey program for teachers and extracurricular and extracurricular activity leaders.

• Open-access educational resources to tackle philanthropy on an ad hoc or more in-depth basis, depending on one’s needs.

• Dedicated training to support teachers and facilitators in their missions.

• Personalized support by the association's team.

“If no one does anything, things will never change.”

Adrien, CM2 student at Ecole Blanche (Paris 9th).

Where are we?

-16,000 children made aware of philanthropy

-2800 teachers registered on our platform

-150 partner associations throughout France

“In my opinion, this is an innovative project because it allows the teacher and therefore the school to do work in connection with life, in connection with the outside world, in connection with everything to which the children are confronted in their daily life. All of a sudden, it gives meaning to one’s learning.”

Véronique Adda, former educational advisor and trainer

How it works

We offer a 2-part educational program:

1) Awareness course

• Children consciously experience empathy.

• They discover philanthropy.

• Students explore the 6 major issues of our world (health, poverty and exclusion, environment, art and culture, education, human rights) and choose the cause for which they will collectively mobilize.

2) Action course

• The children meet a beneficiary association, if possible close, whether it acts for a near or distant environment.

• They implement a solidarity project for the benefit of it.

• The children take stock of their collective solidarity experience.

“I am very touched and very moved by the initiative of the children. These kinds of actions really change our lives! "

Mme Velot, beneficiary of the actions of Guide dogs of Paris
